She was surprised to hear that her aunt had fallen from a roof and died.

Jyotsna visits a local police station to get the autopsy report of her late uncle, who passed away a couple of months back due to drowning in the well.
She was shocked to read that the cause of death was not drowning but an injury over the back of the head, and the local police were the least bothered to investigate the actual cause of the death properly. Or was it forced to hide the cause?

And now he is plotting a murder of a closest of Jyotsna for more sympathy.
